FAQ

Every question patients ask us, answered.

20+ of the most common questions about our AI blood test analyzer. If you don't see yours, email [email protected] — we usually reply within a business day.

What is an AI blood test analyzer?

An AI blood test analyzer is software that reads a lab report — PDF, photo, or scanned image — extracts every biomarker, compares each value to age- and sex-adjusted reference ranges, and explains the results in plain English. blood-test.life is one of the most widely used AI blood test analyzers in 2026, with patients in over 75 countries running more than 100,000 analyses per month.

How accurate is the blood-test.life AI lab test analyzer?

Our internal validation against 12,400 anonymized lab reports (June 2026) shows 99.1 % accuracy on biomarker extraction and 97.4 % agreement with board-certified physicians on flag classification (normal, borderline, abnormal). Edge cases — handwritten notes, faint scans, uncommon unit conventions — are routed to a human reviewer when our model's confidence drops below threshold.

Is the AI blood test analysis a substitute for seeing a doctor?

No. blood-test.life is informational only. Our AI blood test analysis is designed to help you understand what your numbers mean and prepare better questions for your physician. For diagnosis or treatment, always consult a licensed healthcare professional. The medical disclaimer is linked in every report.

Is it really free?

Yes. During the 2026 public beta, the full AI blood test analyzer is free — no credit card, no email wall. After beta, single reports will be $9.99 and unlimited annual access will be $79.90 USD. Existing beta users will keep free access for the analyses they ran during the beta window.

How long does the analysis take?

Most reports complete in under 60 seconds. Files larger than 10 pages or scans with low contrast may take up to 2 minutes. Priority users (Single Report and Annual plans) run in a separate, sub-30-second queue.

Which labs do you support?

Every major commercial lab in North America (Quest, LabCorp, Sonora Quest, Mayo Clinic Laboratories), Europe (Synevo, Synlab, Labco), the UK (NHS, Bupa), Australia (Australian Clinical Labs, Healius), and the Middle East (Medlab). Independent and hospital labs are also supported — our parser auto-detects format and units. If you have a report from an unsupported lab, email it to [email protected] and we'll add it within 72 hours.

Which languages do you support?

Reports can be uploaded in any of 75+ languages and we will return the AI blood test analysis in the language you choose at checkout. English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Turkish, Arabic, Russian, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Indonesian, and Polish are fully QA-tested by native medical reviewers.

How do you handle my health data and privacy?

We operate to HIPAA-aligned standards, GDPR, and CCPA. Lab reports are processed in encrypted memory and the original file is deleted after report delivery unless you opt in to trend tracking. We never sell data and we never train any AI model on your reports. Read the full Privacy Policy and HIPAA Notice for details.

Do you store my lab reports?

Only if you opt in to trend tracking. By default, your file is deleted within minutes of report delivery. If you enable trend tracking, the parsed numeric values are retained — never the original PDF — and you can delete everything at any time from the settings page or by emailing [email protected].

What's the difference between the $9.99 single report and the $79.90 annual plan?

The $9.99 single report is one-time, pay-as-you-go: priority AI lane, up to 120 biomarkers, doctor-ready summary. The $79.90 annual plan is unlimited reports for 12 months for the household (up to 4 profiles), plus the year-over-year trend dashboard, smart re-test reminders, and priority human support.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. Single reports are refundable within 7 days if you are unsatisfied. Annual plans are refundable within 14 days if you have run fewer than 3 analyses. See the Refund Policy for the full terms.

Can I use blood-test.life for my whole family?

Yes — the $79.90 annual plan supports up to 4 family-member profiles, each with separate trend history and re-test reminders. Profiles are siloed by design so children's data is never combined with adult averages.

Can my doctor read the AI report?

Absolutely. Every report includes a doctor-ready summary — biomarker table, key flags, trends, plain-English narrative — formatted for a clinician to scan in under a minute. Many of our users print or email it ahead of their appointment.

Do you support pediatric reference ranges?

Yes. Pediatric reference ranges (0–18) are supported with age-appropriate intervals from the CALIPER and KiGGS databases. Neonatal reports (< 28 days) require a separate workflow — email [email protected] if you need this.

Do you support pregnancy reference ranges?

Yes. Trimester-specific ranges are applied when you indicate pregnancy at upload. Markers known to shift in pregnancy (hemoglobin, ferritin, TSH, ALP, lipids) are interpreted against the correct trimester reference.

Are you HIPAA-compliant?

We operate to HIPAA-aligned privacy and security practices and we sign Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with covered entities on request. blood-test.life is a consumer health product — most of our individual users are not 'covered entities' under HIPAA, but we apply the standard to everyone uniformly.

Is blood-test.life FDA-cleared?

blood-test.life is informational and educational software, not a medical device. We do not diagnose disease, prescribe treatment, or replace any FDA-cleared diagnostic. Any 'risk' or 'flag' the report produces is a starting point for discussion with your clinician, not a clinical decision.

Who reviews your medical content?

Dr. James Carter, MD (Internal Medicine, 15 years) is our Chief Medical Advisor and reviews every piece of medical content before it ships. Specialist content (cardiology, endocrinology, hematology) is additionally reviewed by board-certified specialists from our Medical Advisory Board. See the Team page for full credentials and the Editorial Standards page for the review workflow.

How do I trust an AI with my health?

Three things should give you confidence: (1) every biomarker explanation is reviewed by a licensed physician, not generated free-form; (2) we publish our methodology, evaluation, and corrections in public; (3) we never make a diagnosis — our report tells you what your numbers mean and recommends a specialist when warranted. Trust is built incrementally: start with the free beta and judge the report yourself.

Where is blood-test.life based?

blood-test.life is operated by Blood Test Life Inc, a Delaware-incorporated company. Our headquarters is in Wilmington, DE; the engineering team is in Austin, TX. See the Contact page for full addresses and how to reach the right team.
